Need a little help on a Browning A 5
Got this email from a friend wanting to know ,You know more about shot guns then I do; can you tell me what was in the hold in photo #5? It has a red arrow pointing to the hole. It's a Browning 5A made in about 1953. It's my neighbor's gun that he wants to sell along with a 1897 Winchester 30" full choke, both are 12 ga.

When you disassembling the innards their is a pin that secures the brechblock, it has to be removed through that hole. 0 -
Actually Rufe, the drift pin or punch goes in that side. The pin in the gun comes out on the other side. 0
