Can a winchester model 12 12 gauge 2 3/4" chamber be modified ( have chamber lenghtened) to shoot 3" shells
The reason i ask is i own a model 12 roit gun (watts commemorative edition[:D]) which is in like new condition. I would like to purchase a extra barrel/ mag, forearm which i see a lot of on ebay. I would like to have a spare duck gun realize the new set up will have to be fitted .What i really wanted was a 12 heavy duck
    thanks rp

Did you take it apart before it started acting up?

yes, I replaced the bolt as it would not lockup. That's when the problem started

I dont think you have the cut off installed correctly, make sure the little round button on the back of it is seated properly in the reciever. It would help if you have another model 12 to see how its in there.

The shells in the mag tube are supposed to stick out of the tube about 3/8 inch and be held there by nubs on the bottom of the bolt and on top if the lifter...the shell stop holds the remaining shells in the tube when the action is being cycled...
