Model 100 - Basket Weave Checkering?

Does anyone know for sure whether or not the stamped basket weave checkering appeared on the Win 100 prior to 1964?

My reason for asking is....
A seller is advertising a pre-64 100 Ser 65,XXX which should put the D.O.M as pre-64 but the photo clearly shows basket weave checkering. I always thought the basket weave was first introduced in 64

    I dont think thaey appeared til 64 on the 100 and the 88. Maybe its a replacement stock.

    According to my "2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms" Page 1362, "The stock was a one-piece with pistol grip and was offered with hand-cut checkering or pressed basket weave checkering after 1964. The rifle was introduced in 1955 and the carbine was first offered in 1968. Both versions were discontinued in 1973 with about 283,000 sold. The 65,000 to 65,999 was made in "1958" (give or take a year).

    I agree with Cartod - Replacement stock most likely.

    The model 100 was first introduced in 1961, not 1955

    The model 88 was introduced in 1955, the model 100 was introduced in 1961, thats why pre 64 100s are hard to find.

    From all info available so far, assuming the seller has the ser # correct, the stock must have been replaced. In any event I had some interest in the gun until I saw the pics. If I were to acquire a pre-64 100 I would want it to look like a pre-64. I have advised the seller I was passing on it.
