shipping firearms internationally

A friend has a shotgun in Germany that he wants to ship to me. I hane gotten the import papers but am having trouble finding a shipping company to do it. Does anyone have experience having guns shipped from Germany or know how to do it? Thanks for your help

  Be aware that by the time you are done you will have pretty much paid the price of a new shotgun in fees, shipping costs and taxes to get it here. Unless it is very special, it will not be worth the trouble and cost.
