Hornady TAP Ammo Question?

Why are the cases on the ammo different colors? I have seen a shiny nickel, dark grey, and a black case. Are these different or man something?

  Different generations of the ammo. Nickel is the latest one I beleive.

  The black/dark gray cases were the original ones, but a lot of folks apparently complained they couldn't see the rounds at night. As a result, Hornady went over to the shiny casings.

  the black cases look good, but rapidly lose their looks after being shot. after a couple reloads they just look dirty.
  i reloade the black cases with black talon bullets i had laying arount. If good looks could make a better round, then these are the ultimate!
