Weatherby State Series

In 1981, Weatherby made two rifles for each state. Does anyone have a good idea of what the number one rifle for Alabama is worth? Would the rifles be worth more as a pair? I was told by my gunsmith that the California version sold for 18K--this sounds high. I know the Texas version sold for $7500, but I do not know the date of the sale. Any insight would be appreciated.
