You can use any of the good gun cleaning sprays--I use Rem Oil, Break Free, Hoppes--Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber etc on my Taurus 850.

I have a smudge that won't come off. I tried Rem oil and break free with no luck.

I might try a lead removal cloth first.

I generally find them any place you can buy cleaning solvents. A do it yourself version: Soak a flannel cloth with:

500 gr - 400 grit or finer aluminum oxide powder
450 gr - kerosene or #2 fuel oil
    4 gr - lemon oil
    5 gr - ammonium chloride

Flitz is the only thing I have found that is easy to use and removes even the chamber rings around the cylinder face of my 629 and 686, making them look like new. It also removes the stubborn residue on the cylinder flutes and with a bit of effort the frame around and above the forcing cone. It comes in a toothpaste style tube, and is easy to wipe on and off.
