M1 Carbine NPM/U Serial #'s
Anybody have any input on the highest reported serials for NPM/U.
I have already read War Baby & Several other Wartime production books.
But it seems no one truely knows. Most report that they ended somewhere between 4325xxx - 4385xxx, but I have seen some in the range of 4386xxx. The reason I ask is I have a NPM/U Serial Number 4389454. This almost seems like a good candidate for a Commercial Controls.(Just a thought)
Because one says they believe CCC built the 239 from NPM receivers & the other says they were numbered 001 - 239. Just seeing what anyone else thinks.

NPM/U is not the same as CC. All Commercial Controls carbines I have seen (less than three) were marked Comercial Controls on the receiver. I cant remember the serial #'s used though. 0
