selling old ammo collection

i have around 300 boxes of older shotgun shells that i am gonna try to sell. i am wanting your guys opinion of how to sell it. i am wondering if it would be best to sell them piece by piece individually or lump them together by brand and type or simply throw 5-10 together in mixed lots. i dont have a whole lot into each piece so i dont really need to maximize every penny out of them, but i would like to average around 10-15 bucks a box or so. how do you guys that have sold off some of this type of stuff before do it?

it is mostly stuff like this, a mixed lot of a bunch of old stuff.

    I would lot them out by MFG. If you have several items that you have two of, i would even go with two lots. You have a lot of nice condition stuff there, and it would make a collector stand on his nose.

    Or...you could give an itimized list for one big lot, or two lots...tough call.

    Do some research on shipping costs (UPS GROUND, will run about $9 per single box) consider grouping sales, ship once to a buyer, or like groups.

    most of it is in groups, like 3 of these, 7 of these, etc. those i will just sell in their own little groups. then there are probaly 50 or so that are individuals so i will probaly take about 10 at a time in mixed lots.

    by the way tsr1965, were might i find out were these nose standing collectors hang out?

    I was talking about such items as perhaps 16 gauge 2 9/16 shells, that would be compatable with older 16 ga. guns like the Browning A-5's with the suicide safety, that have been un altered...for full boxes, you could expect to get upwards of $2.00 per round.

    There are a lot of collectors that lurk over on the auction side, looking for rarities, and deals.

    Some of the older Peters and Remington boxes I would list by themselves, also the Hiawatha Ace box as a single. Same brand but different guage I might put in a set, like the Federal Hi-power brown boxes 410, 20, etc. Pick a few out and research the auction side to see how the are selling.

    I had a bunch of old ammo and i took it to a gun show. got rid of it easily and made a few bucks.
