Remington 550-1 won't cock

I recently acquired a super nice Remington 550-1 that was functioning flawlessly. After field stripping for cleaning and then re-assembly, it only cocks if held upside down.Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking for illustrations that can show me what I did wrong?

  i have a Remington 550-1, but never took it apart, and in over 20+ years have cleaned it thoroughly only once, i use it very little since i got adapters, conversions, for my AR-15s, dedicated uppers and AR-5-.22LR (Colt & S&W) one side note, my 550-1 is the only semi-auto .22LR i own that will feed CBs reliably.., i guess it is because of the "Floating Chamber".

  Got 4 of these (by accident and luck) and they are fun shooters. Had to soak the breech of one in solvent for a couple of days to free the floating chamber. Think you may have a spring missing, or a part upside down.

  Airdale was right. Spotted sear spring on the floor the next day. Can't figure out how it came out. It is captured I thought under the screw in the bottom of the receiver. Other owners need to take note and use caution during cleaning. Thanks for the exploded views, they made the difference.
