Remington guns value?
I have inherited a few guns from my grandfather who died in 1977. I am not interested in selling them but I am curious as to their value. Remington Wingmaster 16ga pump 870, s/n 426612w-believed to be late 60s or early 70s. Says "full" and "2-3/4 or shorter shell".
Other is Remington 11-48 28ga s/n 4007021 probably same production timeframe. Says "full", "bZZ", and "2-3/4 or shorter shell".
Any help is appreciated-I don't know much about guns. Both are in like-new condition with no mods.

Go to the auction side and search for sales of same models. These are both common and plentiful. 0 -
Both are shooters, not collectables, and both 16 and 28 gauge have their champions, though 16 has fallen from favor and then become somewhat trendy, so either should sell redily at shooter prices, in the $200-$250 range in my part of the country. 0 -
what a bunch of BS. An 11-48 in 28 ga is a min of 500 any day. There is one on the auction side bid to 600 with a cut barrel. The 870 is 300 probably as I sold one for that on Gb about 2 years ago. Full hurts it a little though 0 -
Since your not interested in selling them, and perhaps you'd like to know value for insurance purposes, I would recommend checking in your area for a reputable gunsmith. (NOT in a big box store). Make inquiries about what they would charge for an insurance appraisal. There is a huge difference in what a firearm is worth "for sale" than what it's "value" for replacement. Then ask questions about how to safely store them to avoid any storage damage such as rust, dings and dents. 0 -
The "bZZ" on your 11-48 is a date code--it translates to Jan. of 1953. 0 -
You can check completed auctions sorted by number of bids to se actual value of the 28 ga. The 16 is worth at least what I sold mine for and mentioned earlier. Checking auctions is not as usefull because of the age. Early ones from the 60's ish do have some extra appeal 0 -
