    The Browning web site at this link will send you a owners manual for the Medalist. I would only use standard velocity ammo in it.

    haroldchrismeyer....great looking Medalist! Yes, they can be dryfired and rufe has recommended you to get the one thing you are missing from your outfit...the owners manual. The Medalist is one of the few semiauto pistols with the dry fire capablity built in. It is quite simple to use and outlined how in the manual. And, no, it takes nothing extra. I shoot mine quite a bit and it is every bit as good as any other quality .22. I have several Smith 41's and High Standards, Rugers and the like and it is the equal of those, plus it is IMHO the best looking .22 pistol ever made. I would disagree with the idea not to run high speed stuff through it as I have shot just about every speed .22's through mine and it digests them with ease. Lucky you! And good shooting!
