EDIT:
thanks john. i thought the price was kinda high, but 91 clones are anywhere from 1000 to 1800 (or more) on the auctions and real HK's areat least $2500. for me, part of the attraction is building it, but i haven't found any blue prints detailing the bends for the receiver. i have access to a machine shop, but without detailed plans on the receiver....

That price seems a little steep. Local shop has a very nice PTR with rails (used) for $1000 right now. The PRT's seem to hover about $1200 I thought so this kit does not make much sense unless you just really want to build one.
I dont think they are super hard but more complicated then some. You will need to find a jig or build one to bend the flat properly. Once bent you will have to weld it properly. This is why places like CAI, Hesse, Vulcan, ect have such hit or miss on these types of guns.0 -
My advice is to not touch this one with a ten foot poll. It's almost a guarantee your not going have a mill cert on the sheet metal, nor are you going to have any idea if it had any form of heat treating prior. Welding it will problematic at best unless your an expert hi frequency GTAW welder. Even then your going to be guessing at the material and will likely have problems with warpage.
Add to that, you can pick up the clones already assembled for 1 Benjamin more.

save up for the real thing, MHO 0 -
Ditto to the above. Bending and welding a flat is tough enough for those that have the a shop with the equipment. That is why so many clones are panned. 0 -
There have ben a lot of flats screwed up over the years.
I would send it to Jayson at Investment Grade Firearms for the flat and trunion work.
Would be a lot cheaper to buy a PTR.
