    Yep, didn't do the egg test but my Caldwell sled (rigged with $1.99 straps [:p]) is awesome. As you can see I was using my snow chains as weight [;)]! I was sighting in my SAKO M995 in .300WM when the pix was taken.

    I use a lead sled myself, with bags of lead shot. I don't have a condom on my barrels however.[}:)]

    the lead slead is great, but for a less expensive option, MTM makes an adjustable pistol rest that i use to steady my rifles for sighting in. works great with a laser bore sight.
    also might want to get one of those resonator doo-dads like feenix has.

    I don't like to "arrest" the recoil of a rifle for accuracy work. I prefer a front rest and a rear bag to allow the movement.

    Your budget will determine a lot of the choices.

    I use a Bald Eagle front rest with protektor rear bags
