    Condition is good, but price IMHO is about $200-150 high.

    EDIT:In the new pictures, it looks like the last letters are worn off. Or were taken off when rebuilt.
    Gun is just a shooter, nothing more [;)]

    Is the mis spelling rare and if so what kind of value gets put on it ?

    As it applies to firearms, mis-markings are merely a curiosity, and they in of themself do not add any premium value what-so-ever to the gun.

    The seller takes an up close photo of exactly the area where the "misspelling" occurs - and he doesn't pull back the bolt so we can see it? I don't think it's a misspell, maybe a poor stamp but misspell would be "carnibe" or some such thing.

    I don't think the poor stamp adds any value, I think I'd prefer to not have it.

    I paid $500.00 last year for an Inland with a better stock, an L sight & push button safety with a thin barrel band. I'm told I got a good deal, but I think this one should sell for about the same.

    He doesn't describe the bore condition & wear. He also doesn't say "Not import marked".

    So, you have to assume the worse. Sold "as is", $400 would be my top bid for a refinished mixed parts rebuild.

    Im sorry this is the correct listing with the pics added at end. It is not an import and barrel is excellent !! I just took this in and trying to get an idea of its value.. Im not good with the military stuff..

    Is there a photo of the mis spelled word? I can't find it. It looks like a very typical rebuilt M1 carbine (marked with the Ogden rebuild stamp), not much different than thousands of others that I've seen. CARBIN or CARBINE (the E probably wore away over the years) spelling errors on firearms add little if anything to their value.

    MFI Re-list it at $500. This time show one additional photo, a closeup of the right side of the receiver (with the op-rod locked to the rear) showing the absent "E". Don't even bother trying to explain the mis-strike nonsense.

    I think it's an "honest" surplus firearm, and the absence of the final "E" will show in the photo. Up to the buyer to look at them, and decide. Best, Joe

    The serial number on the receiver is well outside the Inland M2 range.
