    One of the troubles I have found with many long "single" stack mags
    is the varying spring pressure from fully loaded to almost empty.
    Hence the idea of plugging to a smaller capacity. If you could install
    a variably rate spring that would keep a more constant "load" against the shells, you would have a better feeding mag. A fly in this idea is
    most coil type springs can be made to get stronger as they compress, but you need the spring to get softer as it gets compressed. As a side note, you may try to change the length of the feed lips to allow the shells to remain in the mag a longer or shorter time before release.

    i had a mac11 clone that uses a sten magazine well
    as far as i could tell it double stacks
    easy to load
    never had a problem with them even though they are from ww2
    cheap 32 round mags i got mine for 5.00 a piece
