Revelation 205/Mossberg .30-30
I recently bought this rifle and it seems to have a hard time chambering rounds.
On the upstroke the round will often get hung up in there.
It's like the nose doesn't elevate enough and slams into the receiver before it gets to the chamber.
It dents the end of the bullet and doesn't give me much confidence should I really need to have one chambered without a hitch.
What could be wrong and what can I do about it?

With out a visual inspection of the rifle, I would say that the cartridge lifter is bent down. Is the lifter stamped or milled. I have seen this problem before. If you are not experienced, take it to a gunsmith. 0 -
It looks milled.
When the cartridge doesn't chamber the lifter hasn't lifted.
Whatever mechanism causes the lifter to lift is the problem I suspect.
If I keep at it it eventually chambers the round albeit with the nose banged up.0
