savage model 220
I have a Savage model 220 in 16 gauge. A model 219 in centerfire calibers 30-30 and 22 hornet was also made and look similar. Would a centerfire barrel from a 219 work on my 220? I have an opportunity to purchase a barrel but it is not available for me to test it in my gun

Are the various gauge barrels inter-changeable? In other words, will a 20 gauge barrel fit a gun which has a 16 gauge barrel,etc? 0 -
Although I have several Savage 219's and 220's, they each have their own forearms and are the set's with rifle/shotgun barrels...so I don't know if the same reciever and forearms would work with different gauges. One of the best places to get info on the Savage 220's is the web site: savageshooters dot com. Look for a moderator named "Mad Dog" who is an expert on Savage single shot rifles and shotguns. 0 -
Yes and no. Some will. Some will not. Those that will not can usually be hand fitted so they will work. 0
