H&R Model 922, possible Military Issue?

I came across a H&R Worcester Co. USA gun, in it's what seems to be original holster. It's a model 922 H&R Co. Worcester Mass USA and the serial number is N11241. It has a unique camoflauaged hand grip, is a nine shot. It was in a leather holster stamped US. It looks to be military issue. Wondering what something like this would go for?

    sounds like bubba painted the grip and put it in an old military holster,,they were never issued sorry

    H&R used the N letter code in 1953. the grips you describe were the standard for that year.

    unless it has military marking stamped on it it was not military issue. H&R model 922 were not shipped with holsters that was something you had to buy extra. sounds like you maybe have a government surplus holster that someone purchased and put their 922 in.

    As Bill said, the "STAG" colored grip was standard at that time. It should be a creamy ivory background with brown, black, tan, orange and yellow swirls running through it.

    These pistols don't usually go for more than $150-200 in very good condition. I have owned 3 and they're fun pistols to have for plinking. If you get a chance take a look at a few on the auction side.

    Bill, i cant find a valid email for you. I found you commenting on a gun i own on gunbroker.com. The peoplepc email kicks back to me. I own a FI Industries model D 380. Locals cannot help me and have no knowledge of the peice. Every third or fourth round has to be refired. I think the clip may be the problem. Can you advise?

    my first thought on this kind of problem is the slide not fully closing. the impact of the hammer is being used up in closing the slide all the way
