Need help with 1911 rounded mainspring housing
From the sunny south [8D],
Before you read too far I should let you know that I'm looking for a rounded mainspring that would fit on my Coonan model B. I know the Conan grip is longer from the backstrap to the trigger housing to allow for the length of the .357 round. But the mainspring housing looks near enough to stock 1911 size except that it is almost 2.5" from base to grip safety. This seems to long for any 1911 I have seen !?
I tried to locate the Dan Coonan web sight to ask about this stuff but can't find a proper link. Any help??
Thanks, as always, ahead of time!

Hello Captain Kirk...
Tried Google until I've run out of crayons!! I queried the question in any for I know how. But how do you ask if a Colt, Springfield (etc). round mainspring housing will fit a Coonan. There are no references and the measurements will not match...or so I think.I was worn out on Google and hoped a 1911 god would have mercy on me and know what I need right off hand!
Thanks, as always,
Jim

Hello Gun Hawke I think the reason no one has responded is it is my belief that there are very few Conan's ever sold and many owners of them do not have a 1911 Pistol I still think you will need to go to a gunsmith with 1911 parts or to a gun show to try to see if any parts will interchange. If you live in central Va. I could help you out. 0 -
Don't Know what Your Problem is or was...So I did the Google Search and on the 1st shot out of the bag I get a Very personable Young Lady on the Phone and We had a pleasant 5 minute conversation..We have You covered and Heres the Telephone Number 1-763-786-1720 They are located at 2033 105th Ave. N.E.
Blaine, MN. 55449
They will be set up at the S.H.O.T. Show in Las Vegas in January..You might consider making the trip...You will be able to meet the whole Company...
They have an email, but I could'nt access them....Just give the Lady behind the Desk a call....She'll give it to You......Best.....Captain Kirk0
