410 chokes

Finally bit the bullet & bought a Browning 525 28" 410. It came with full' mod' & i\c chokes. Got it mainly for shooting sporting clays. Are there better ckokes out there for 410's & sporting clays? Shot one round of 100 & got 73 with the mod. & i\c chokes.

  Looks like a pretty fair score to me. Just remember while shooting a 410 ga with 2 1/2 inch shells you omly have a half oz of shot so there isn't much room for errors or helping out the pattern very much. You might find a skeet choke and use it and i/c choke tubes but if targets get very far out you will quickly run out of pattern. My opinion only. Also remember 410 patterns are checked at 25 yards and not 40 as with other guages. I like i/c and mod for 410 sporting clays.

  I think your .410 525 and the 28ga 525 take the INV tubes and not the INV+ for the back bored barrels. Briley tubes are light years ahead of the factory Browning tubes:

  Reloading for the .410 makes a world of difference too. I used Cream O Wheat for shot buffer in 3" loads, and it really improved the pattern.

  I'll admit I had an above ave. day for me on the range with the 410. Love the new gun & the way it shoots, just thought there might be some choke advice out there to make it shoot even better. Thanks for the tips. I'll check out the briley website.

  I bought some extended brileys for my 28 ga. it helped the pattern dramatically in the same choke. Look for a set of used ones first before you buy new. If you do buy direct from Briley ask them if they have a special. They usually will give you one of the same if you buy 4. Great people to deal with.
