This bolt looks like it has been reworked to fit a Mauser, but what is it?

  from what I can see of it it 'looks' like a pre war commercial bolt.

  Mauser 98 type bolt, with either a factory, aftermarket or custom forged "butter knife" handle

  Find a standard/long action M98 reciever/rifle and see if it locks up. If it does then you will know. Even if it does that does not mean that it is/will headspace to any given action just that it is a M98 standard configuration bolt body.
