You are better off holding on to your Sig 220. It is of much higher quality than the AK, and can go many more places un-noticed.

If you're looking at a straight trade, ask yourself the following questions: How much does another Sig like this cost? How much does an AK like this cost? How much more would I like the AK than the Sig? Act accordingly.

To find the used value of common guns, go to the Gunbroker home page & click on the Smart Search link. Then select Completed Auctions & enter a description of the gun; select List Highest Number of Bids first. Only look at auctions where the gun actually sold.

There are atleast two variations of the AES-10,

the regular base CIA AES-10 isnt usually threaded for a muzzle device, i think the barrel may not even be romanian because it is alot thinner then The AES-10B.. I would not recomend that you trade for that model.

The AES-10B, i'd almost recomend because it has the threaded, heavier Romanian spec barrel. If I really wanted an RPK style gun, I'd probably go with a Yugo with an original barrel.

    Yugo M72 Original barrel

    US made barrel

    Romanian AES10B

    Romanian AES10 W/US made barrel

The price for the AES-10b is anywhere from 575 to 750

These are rough estimates, exact figures will depend on the conditions of the specific guns, and what (if any) accessories come with them (eg extra mags, etc).

    Used Sig maybe $550-650.
    Used RPK-clone AK maybe $575-675

So they're ballpark the same price. Assuming good condition for each, and no special accessories, a straight-up trade is probably reasonable, pricewise.

Personally, I'd keep the Sig. Its a much better gun than the Romanian, its likely to appreciate more, and its probably more practical. Who needs an extra-long AK?.

    But that's your call.
