need info Winchester 101 pigeon grade 3 barrel set
Hi Folks,
I'm looking for information about a Winchester Model 101 Pigeon grade 3 barrel set. We recently got one and don't know when it was made, serial number 256XXX, or if it is trap, skeet or something else. It has (3) 28" barrels in 20-28-410 gauge. No winchoke. In the original Winchester box but there is no paperwork. We called Winchester and were told that all records for 101's were destroyed in a fire. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. Also an approx. value? Gun is like new and does not appear to have ever been fired but the case shows some wear. Thanks Wanda

Most probably a "3-barrel skeet set". I saw some back in the 70's but haven't seen anybody using one in a long time. Very nice guns but they were sorta light for target work. As far as price I would guess around $2500(+). 0 -
Most Trap is shot with 12Ga. only Sounds like a Skeet set. 0 -
+1 on this being a small guage skeet set. You can verify chokes by removing the forearm to reveal the choke stamping on the left side of each barrel near the lug. I have owned a couple of these sets over the years, but it has been a while. Regarding the value of a like-new pigeon grade set, I think you are realistically looking in the $3500-4000 range to the right person. There are a couple of sets listed on the Internet now for just under $5K. Chris Showler is the guy to go to for more information.
