Oakie
I want to buy an ar 15 22lr but live in communist new jersey. Any one know if there is a manufacture that makes one jersey legal.I like the colt but everything on it is illegal for nj residence. any help would be appriciated.Oak

    Take a look at the Smith & Wesson 22AR. It might make it for you.

    EDIT:S&W has plain barrel-can come with 10rd. mag. NJ illegal [?][?] WHY [?][?]

    They are NJ legal.

    The problem is, the mags are not. They all exceed the NJ "large capacity magazine" limit. Since all the AR .22's come with at least 1 mag, no one will ship to NJ.

    There is nothing legal about them. They have the bayonet lug, the flash suppressor, the collapsable stock and a 3o round mag. all illegal in nj. But thanks anyway. Oak

    Under options do pined muzzle break and remove the lug.


    Dont know why you like the "Colt" (not made by Colt) since none of the parts will interchange with any real AR parts, but to each their own.

    I know nothing of NJ law - I did a look up, but didn't find specifics other than mags must be 15 rounds or fewer.

    In CA we use out of state FFLs to make certain guns CA compliant before they enter the state, perhaps there's an out of state FFL that does the same for NJ gun owners. All the items you listed are easily "corrected" but I can see why the average seller would rather not deal with it.

    Just to double check, you're sure NJ AW laws apply to rimfire rifles, correct?

    If there is a NJ specific gun site you may want to check there, like CA, NJ laws seem complicated enough that there's probably a gun website dedicated to that state specifically.
