99 SAV.. 300--- W/ more horsepower

[;)]i have a 99 300,(ijust love this gun) and wondering if i can rebore to 7mm rem or to a 300 mag, or is the rotating mag my biggest problem, or-or-or,do i have a pipe dream,thanks , rusobr2 (steven)

    pipe dream or a money pit. buy a browning BLR in 7mm mag or 300 win mag.,its made in both. eastbank.

    If you "love this gun", why mess with it ??
    You will be money ahead if you just go buy a 7mm
    or a .300. IMHO.

    My guess is that you have a Savage 99 chambered for the .300 Savage. If that's true, then you CAN'T do any re-chambering to the cartridges you have listed or any others for matter.

    The rotary magazine is cartridge specific and as such could never be modified to accommodate larger, let alone, belted cartridge cases.

    Leave the rifle alone and enjoy it, they are really terrific as is.

    Like everybody else said. Plus those two chamberings are too long for the action. Buddy of my had one of the later box magazine ones rebarreled to .338 Federal that is a real nice rifle

    [8D][8D]thanks fellas!! i just didn't know what was all involved here, and i thought,the best thing to do,is ask questions.my problem is solved, i really do like the way the rifle is,so i'm just going to stick with it, thanks again,rusobr2 (steven)
