choke for .22 revolver

I have a Herbert Schmidt Co, mod.22 S. Made in W Germany It is a SAA, six shot revolver for .22 shot only ammo. The barrel has an internal thread for a choke. None was with the piece when I aquired it. Anyone know where I can get one?

    Now what makes you think that the threads are for a choke? .22 caliber guns, rifles or handguns do not have chokes.

    My WAG is that it was originally made for shooting blanks only. Somebody unknown removed the threaded plug in the barrel.

    After the law was changed in 1968 the inexpensive Schmidt revolvers chambered for the .22 short were no longer importable. Perhaps some were reworked with a pluged barrel and imported and sold for shooting blanks only.

    1. Have never seen a Schmidt that was a "shot revolver"- but have not seen a lot of things. Is yours marked 22 SHOT or 22 SHORT?

    2. I HAVE seen at least one model of 22 SHOT long guns that had an external, screw on choke- the Mossberg Targo.

    3. If you DO have a smoothbore MADE as a handgun, you MAY have a Class III "Any Other Weapon". H&R made a .410 PISTOL that us regulated as such. Again, have never seen a 22 Shot handgun.

    4. Some info on the company: H. Schmidt was originally founded in 1919 in the town of Zella-Mehlis by two brothers, Francis and Herbert. Zella-Mehlis was the home of several firearms manufacturers including Walther. In 1950, Herbert moved the operation to Ostheim, Rohn and began to manufacture starting pistols. In 1959 they introduced a .22 magnum version of the Colt Frontier Scout. In 1970 versions were introduced in .22, .22 magnum and .357 as well as in 6mm and 9mm. Herbert Schmidt died in 1974. His son Wolfgang took over the business and expanded further into blank guns and knives. In 1994, the company now called HS Arms GmBH manufactured a single action "Texas Scout" model that could be converted between .45 Colt and .22 LR, a double action "Buffalo Combo" in .38 caliber and an "Undercover" double action revolver in 9mm. Sometime in the late 1990s, HS Arms ceased operations and closed permanently.
