Auto Mag model 180

Just aquired an Auto Mag .44 AMP, model 180. There is a lever on the left side at the top in the middle of the grip. Just in front of the safty lever. It des not move. What is it for? Where can I find a manual and break down drawings for an Auto Mag 180 44 AMP?

    It has been years I had 2 of these one 357 and one 44 I believe This is whata lets you dismount the top from the rest . I do remember it has two recoil springs that are the Hex screws parallel to the barrel one on each side. If it was me I would get some RIG stainless steel lube these guns tended to gauld if not kept lubed.

    I helped free on of these that an 80 year old neighbor has. I used Liquid Wrench and Goof Off. He had dried WD40 in it.

    BTW, I copied the manual, which I have here.

    Yes, just email. I just got it out, it is 25 pages. You can make a deal for postage and copying. I have hoped the old fella would eventually sell it to me, but it was his deceased Son's, and he is reluctant to part with it.

    That lever is the Safety. Unless you mean the tab, that is a holdopen part.

    Yes it is the slide relese lever. The gun has custom grips. When I took them off the lever freed up. I had to cut out a space for the bent over ear on the lever. It now operates fine...

    The lever you asked about is to engage the bolt stop, however it takes a lot of force to release the bolt by pressing down on it and is hard on your fingers.
    Most people don't know but when the bolt is locked back.....it can be released easily by pressing down on the safety lever.
    The pistol was designed this way.

    Out standing. Much easyer to use the safety lever. Thank you.
