Taurus PT 911

I would like your info/comments on the Taurus PT911.
I want a DA/SA Pistol. My PT 111 Millennium Pro is a tack driver.

    Had one. It was solid, dependable, accurate, all round well worth the $.

    But, be warned Taurus has lousy customer service.

    I'm not impressed by their quality of checkering or finish, but I gotta admit, you get a lot of features for the money. Very good if you like function over form.

    Another one to look at with (IMHO) better fit and finish, but no checkering or ambi safety is the STI Spartan. On the other hand, with the Spartan you can attempt to do your own (or pay someone else) to add high quality checkering instead of Taurus' crappy checkering.

    I've got a PT 1911 in 38 Super, I think dollar for dollar you won't find a better 1911. That being said, you have other options if you are looking for a 1911 in 45acp, as has been mentioned. I bought mine for the caliber, and as such I am verry satisfied, it eats anything I feed it, always functions and shoots straight. I'm into it $550.00 including shipping and FFL transfer. It don't get much better than that.[:D][:D]
