Herbert Schmidt 22lr revolver? again

My brother-in-law has a Herbert Schmidt 22lr revolver that a relative purchased in 1965. I have seen all the posts for what it is worth and basic history of the gun. My question is one that I have not seen on any of the forums. This gun seems to be in great shape, my brother-in-law ask me to look at it and clean it up. I am able to clean up the gun but cannot remove the cylinder. Madison Import Corp 137160 is stamped on the bottom of the handle. Can someone help me with this. If a manual was avaiable that would be even better

    Are we talking about a single action revolver? If so, they are basically just scaled down copies of the classic Colt.
    To remove the cylinder, find the spring loaded pin release at front of frame. (will likely have screw heads on both sides). Push it from left to right while at same time, pulling out the cylinder pin from front of frame under barrel. Pull it all way out. IE: Remove it.
    Put gun at 1/2 cock, open loading gate, remove cylinder.

    This is a double action revolver. The pin on the front where you would expect the pin release, is threaded. It isn't spring loaded, it appears to be for manually ejecting the spend cases. I will try to include a photo if that would help. Thanks for your help.

    Most of the inexpensive post W W II German revolvers were made out of potmetal = zinc diecastings. If the cylinder axis pin is steel and has been crossthreaded, or has frozen into the zinc frame because of electrolysis I would leave it alone. If you strip the frame threads removing it, you risk not being able to reassemble the cylinder, so that it would still be functional.

    If you want to chance it soak it in kroil or liquid wrench for a couple of days. Then carefully using a piece of sheetmetal around the head of the axis pin, use a small vise grip to try to unscrew it.

    OK, SECOND PHOTO- REMOVE THE PIN JUST ABOVE THE 'PROOF MARKS', THIS SHOULD ALLOW THE CYLINDER PIN TO MOVE FORWARD FREEING THE CYLINDER.

    Was removing the pin the correct takedown procedure? Any surprises, taking the gun apart or putting it back together?

    We have the same 22 revolver in the store, we are looking for a set of grip panels, any idea where we could get them.

    Try Bob's Gun Shop, at this link. He carries a lot of parts for the various German and Italian post war imports. I have bought stuff from him in the past. Hard to get a hold of. Sometimes it best to just send him a check, if you can specifically identify the model your buying parts for.

    I think that "pin" above the proof marks is a screw, and the head is broken off.
