Stevens 66B Lyman sight back then
I have a Stevens 66b 22 Bolt Action Rifle that has the barrel holes for a sight that was once mounted on it. I have an idea the sight was a Lyman and am now trying to determine which model Lyman (or other manufacturers) would more than likely have been on the rifle back in the 40's. I know there are several books out on the market that may have this information...sure would appreciate it if somebody could help with this. Thanks

No, it wasn't a Lyman. It was a rear peep of Stevens MFG. Nothing nearly of the quality or precision as a Lyman, and was pretty "Mickey Mouse" IMO.
It had a number designation, but I can't recall what it was. And originals are hard to find in useable condition. However, I may be able to hook you up w/someone who might have a repro.
I took the original off my 66, which was in poor/unuseable, but fairly complete condition, and installed a barrel mounted sight. And sold it to a guy who indicated he intended to used it as a pattern to make some repro's. This was several years ago. But I can try to see it I can obtain contact info, if you are interested.
Also, Bob's Gunparts (google it) used to have some repro's.0
