It would be best if you could post quality photos of the rifle, with close-ups of all the markings.

Here is a link with instructions for posting photos to our forum.

    ECO-DAVE,

I found this additional information that you posted on another website:

"Has anyone heard of a mauser rifle with a spoon handle and full stock..has a octagon to round barrel. The name on it is MOSSIER GABRIEL ....AND 9.3X62"

Everyone points out that photographs, sharp, clear and well lit by something along the lines of open but bright shade, will help us find the clues to tell you as much about this rifle as is possible.

Photographs of the proof marks, cartridge designation, makers marks, etc. often help with approximate dating of Mausers. You will probably have to take the barreled action out of the stock to find all of the marks necessary.

The reality is that this is probably the name of a gunmaker or merchant. I don't see this name on any of my lists that I can find right now. There were some many one-man gunmakers in Europe that they were nearly impossible to catalog. The markings will give us some help.

    Best.
