WINCHESTER SXR RIFLE SCOPE MTS.
Can anyone tell me what the scope mounts are for the winchester SXR semi-auto rifle in 30-06. They seem to be the same front and rear. Receiver is predrilled with factory holes. Thanks in advance.

WINCHESTER never made a semi-auto "SXR" rifle. The only high-power sporting semi-auto rifle that WINCHESTER ever manufactured was the Model 100. 0 -
Bert H.,
According to the Winchester website, they are are currently manufacturing the SXR and there are about 30 of them for sale on Gunbroker.

Best.
WINCHESTER ceased manufacturing firearms in late 1980. Anything with the Winchester name on it since then, was made by some other company who leased the rights to used the TM name.0 -
Bert - You're nit-picking here.
They aren't talking about what the old Winchester company is doing or when they quit making rifles, they are asking about the Winchester SXR and it's scope mounts. That's what the rifle is named!
Continued: tsr1965. - You're right, purist collectors do nit-pick and Bert is a purist on WINCHESTERS. He was also correct that the WINCHESTER SXR is not being made by the old company that used to make WINCHESTERS. nononsense made the short, intelligent reply that the WINCHESTER SXR is now being made.
Bert jumped to another topic with his response, ignoring the original question.
Nothing wrong with being an intelligent purist, but I've run into smart intelligent purists that know everything about their subject but have trouble flying a kite or tying their shoes.0 -
THIS IS A 'TAKE-OFF' OF THE BROWNING BAR, SHOULD TAKE THE SAME SCOPE MOUNTS. 0 -
That is what purist collectors do...they NIT-PICK. I would not wish Bert to be any other way. He is correct in saying that even though it has Winchester's name on, that it is not made by Winchester. Benelli/Beretta is my guess.
That being said, what is the original question? If it is who makes base mounts and rings, and for what gun, I would have to say check out burris for the R1 Benelli, or Brownings Longtrack.

EDIT 1:
I.Shute,
If I am not mistaken, you are about to start a Royal Rumble. I am thinking that you have not a clue about the diversity of knowledge of some of the members here. And yes, Bert did provide somewhat of an answer by telling the original poster, in uncertain terms to not look for the mounts under the Winchester name as they might not be listed, but for ones that are made elsewhere. Yes...very discrete clues.0 -
OK, here is the answer to the original question, and who made the SXR... make sure that you read Chuck's last paragraph.

The SXR has been discontinued...get yours while they are on sale. Great gun if you can buy $500+...normally a $900+ gun. Get the 270 WSM, 300 WSM or 300 WM to benefit from the semi-auto. Same gun as the Browning Short Trac (minus bolt release) which is a $1000 gun. 0
