I wanted to get some opinions and really appreciate the replys that I got to my post

    However.......there was this one reply.

    Tsr65 says -
    quote:

One more thing...I would suggest that you might want to adjust your name calling and mannerism. If not, you will not most likely be here. If you are asking for an opinion of which one...which you did, then be prepared for the answer. If you are looking for support or information to support your proposed purchase, then say so.

I am SO very sorry tsr65! I did not realize that you owned Gun Broker and as a result, also own Ask The Experts forum and you personally decide who posts here. Forgive me for infringing on your personal domain, that you share with the rest of us.

When you write -"then be prepared for the answer"

Oh boy... how condescending! I am not the person who designed the gun-It's not "my baby".
I have no persoanl attachment to either and wanted to hear all that what was said about the 597 or the 10/22.

While new to this particular gun forum- I have been on gun and other forums of all types for years and enjoy them all.
I think that they are the best source of answers, hyperbole, opinion and fact,in the cyber-world.

My friendly advice to you, is to ease up on the "expert" condescending BS attitude.

trs65 has the right to say whatever he wants. I you don't like it, just ignore it till someone says what you like. Some of these men are VERY experience with firearms and if you don't at least try to understand what they are saying you are not going to get the whole story. Unfortunately your mind was already made up before you even posted.

And no, he may not own Gunbroker. But his answers are always dead on and as far as I am concerned he is one of the most trusted guys on this forum. So you just lost one good source.

    Thanks Shooter10,

smokeless has not lost my support. I will continue to give advice for those who ask. I was once in his shoes, and did not realize who I was biting. Fortunately for me, the others on here still stick by me, and offer sound advice from their hands on experience.

Kind of reminds me of a fellow who asked an opinion of which AK...stamped or milled, and in general was trying to justify to himself that the usually less expensive stamped recievers were in fact as good as the milled recievers.

    smokeless....

No, I do not own Gunbroker. I am merely sharing my experience, and what I have seen in my use of firearms for 40 years, repairing them for 28 years(since I was 16), and selling them for 20, along with many custom builds.

However, I will react approprioately to personal insults and attacks, if you persist. I have no ill toward you, and am trying to help you...if you have a specific problem, I would prefer it is handled with e-mail, so your membership here on the forums stays intact...so we all can enjoy too, the things you have learned from being on forums for years.

    Best

    EDIT 1:

smokeless...you are quite welcome. Like I said...I have been in those shoes, and am very fortunate. You will find these boards, especially the experts forum very informative. There are numerous people like Nononsense and Bert H, who are moderators, sandwarrior, nmeyers, givette, dcs, beantown, and perry shooter...that will bend over backwards to help a guy out.

If you wish, use the link in my profile to drop me an e-mail.

Thanks for THAT reply. Enough said.I do give a lot of credit to a man who will not turn his back on a forum member simply because of a disagreement. We all learn, listen, create, share, enjoy each other and become more informed with these forums.

I DO respect the opinion of anyone who has been dedicated to their given craft for many years.

Let's move on to greener pastures of our collective wisdom.

"On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." (Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322)
