Remington 11-48 not cycling properly
Any ideas? I assume it is an Oring but cannot find a diagram of the action. My local smith is 12 weeks deep in guns and does not have time to look at it.

I've tried that, I've stripped it down pretty good and cleaned it well and re-oiled. I'm probably just going to have to suck it up and buy a new gun for this bird season and get this one to a gunsmith during the off season. 0 -

Its not ejecting, it's like it's only opening the action 3/4 of the way. 0 -

Do these have a gass port in the barrel like the 58, may be pluged. 0 -
No gas ports, recoiling barrel. I have seen them jamb when the brass friction ring on the barrel is rough and not clean. 0 -
How much oil are you leaving on the magazine tube? If you can see the film, it's way to much. Same with the friction piece.
Also, what condition is the chamber in? If it is just the slightest rough it may not be fully extracting the spent hull and re-chamebring it. If this is the case stop using it until the chamber has been honed smooth, you could wind up with a broken carrier dog.0 -

It's kind of funny you say that about oil on the magazine tube. I had one guy tell me to use high temp grease on it hahaha. It is lightly oiled and last night I spent a little time smoothing out the friction ring with an emory cloth. I will shoot it this weekend and hopefully the friction ring was the issue.0 -
