I have a Remington Model 700 BDL... It is a 1980 Model, Manufactured at the end of 1979.
I am not sure if the barrel is factory remington or not, I am told it is not. But it is a 1:9 rate of twist, 24" with the muzzle brake. It has an aftermarket bolt mount safety. The receiver has been machined ( not sure what for, I was told it was possibly trued and blueprinted )
It has a harris bi-pod, and a Nikon 4x Scope. I also have a 16x Powerclass Centerpoint, and Leopould Rings.
Gun is in 7mm remington mag.

The problem with customizing any gun is that you usually end up with something worth less than you have in it. We don't know who did the work, or if he even knew what he was doing. And, taking a grinder to the receiver is usually the kiss of death.......
The bottom line is....there is no way to put a value on a rifle like yours. The only way to find the "real value" is to list it at auction, starting at $100, & see what someone is willing to pay for it.

And, if you are going to sell it, I strongly recommend you shoot some strings with it and show the targets so you can (hopefully) comment on the accuracy, triggerpull, effectiveness of the compensator, recoil, etc., in your auction.

Action and barrel looked like they were blued. Serial Numbers and some small areas still show some bluing.
The finish was removed. looks like an abrasive pad was used to remove the bluing.. Dose not help the resale value.0 -
That rifle looks like a Bubba special. Someone has really screwed it up. I doubt that you could get $300.00 for it including the 4x Nikon scope. If you can get that or more, then jump on it!

The barrel is stainless but someone had painted it black. Machine work was done on a lathe, dont know by who though. Trigger pull is around 2.5 pounds, shoots on average of .5 moa at 100 yards with 150 grain remington ballistic silver tips. Never tried any match ammo. Rifle is not pretty right now but shoots amazing. It has been a long time since the work was done so it has been abused a little.0 -

This rifle isn't going to get anything on the "collectability" side. Not to worry, though, most 700's won't. They are shooters not collectors.
The thing with customized Remington 700's is what has been done and proven safely done to enhance shooting. Most well done ones bring a lot more than originals. $2K is a normal price for a well done, big name, Rem 700 custom.
I see the brake on there. How well does that work? The finish was wire-brushed clean (probably/maybe to work with it), the machining was probably to true the action. The Stainless barrel was a good addition to the rifle as it will wear a little better than chrome-moly. What brand of Nikon is the scope? They range from $150.00-$750.00 The closer to $750.00 you get the better. Look for a name on there like "Monarch" If it says "Prostaff" it's the $150.00 variety. Still decent to hunt with but not at all great. That will kind of help narrow down what you would give/ought to get for this rifle.
BOTTOM LINE: How it shoots. If it shoots great as in Sub MOA groups most times when good shooters pull the trigger, then you have a $500-$1K gun. Posting pics of good five or ten shot groups would really help your cause.

If you can, get that 16x scope on there and see what the rifle will do @ 500-1000 yds. That's what that rifle was made to do.0
