Remington 1100 LW 20 Gauge Question
I picked up a Rem 1100 LW 20 gauge without a barrel.
Can I use any 1100 20 gauge barrel or do I need a barrel marked LW ?
Will an LT barrel fit my receiver ?
Thanks,
Pete

I am not an expert, but I own one. I think it depends on the age. I had to look for a long time to find a barrel that fit. I know that not all barrels work, but I cant tell you for sure which ones will. Im sure an expert will chime in. 0 -
Pete, Rem made the 1100 on 3 frames, the Standard, LT, and LW, and none of the barrels interchange.
Pricey but usually has what you're looking for:

20 GA. 1100 LW barrels have a short tang, similar in length to an 870...The Standard weight and LT barrels have a long tang similar to the 12 ga. 1100's.. They're pricey...

LT 20 barrels can be converted to fit LW 20 receivers by milling down the long LT 20 barrel tang to a LW 20 configuration. You might do a websearch for Remington shotgunsmiths, get a quote, and send the smith a used LT 20 barrel for surgery. Good luck. 0
