30-30 to a 32 ws
I would imagine I am not the only one to notice the near-identicle specs between 30-30 brass and 32 WS brass. By all accounts I have in my loading books, the only real difference is in caliber---- .308 vs. .322, and the ever-so-slight differences around the shoulder could be fire-formed.
So, has anyone personally necked up their 30-30 brass to reload for 32 WS? OR, can anyone see any potential legitimate reason this wouldn't work? 30-30 brass is much easier to find, and always cheaper than tracking down the 32 WS brass.

Never had a reason to load 32WS, but I've turned a few pieces of 32WS into 30-30.
Other than the headstamp issue (which entails having some idiot try running it through his 30-30), there should be no problem running a 30-30 case through a 32WS die and loading as usual.0 -
This is a very simple process. I believe that I first did it about 1960 when Pop bought a Lyman 310 reloader in .32 Win. Spl.[:D]. 30-30 cases are more readily found on the range also. Careful if you also have a 30-30 rifle, the reformed .32 spl will jamb it up solid. I still shoot the old 94, #2165169. Bought it new in 1957!![^] Eddie 0 -
