Savage .308 Tactical Question

The Accutrigger was new in 2002.

I do not think you can reasonably install an Accutrigger on a plain trigger Savage action. There are aftermarket triggers you can buy from Sharpshooter Supply, JARD, and Rifle Basix that I know of. I replaced my Accutrigger with a Rifle Basix because it did not do what the advertising claimed.

Have a gunsmith adjust the trigger on the Savage. I did mine to about three lbs.

I replaced the stock trigger on my Savage 111F in .300 WM with a Rifle Basix (easy DIY) with a crisp 1.5 lbs break. Good luck!

I am looking at a Savage .308 tactical rifle. The question that I have is, when did they start making the "Accu-trigger"? The rifle that I looked at does NOT have the "Accu-trigger".

My second question is, how difficult and expensive would it be to install an "Accu-trigger system" on this rifle?

    Thanks for the help.

I think all you need is a "good" trigger, not necessary the "Accu-trigger".

If you don't like the stock trigger, a competent gunsmith should be able to help you with that.

Alternatively, as mentioned, aftermarket drop in triggers are available. For example:

If you *must* have an accu-trigger, this outfit offers a retrofit, though I can't speak to the quality of their work:

I have a 110 Tactical in .308 that I've had for many years. It came wth an old 8-power fixed scope on it and I can still hit plastic soda bottle tops at 60 yards with it-just as it came from the factory. ( When I stop shaking that is.... LOL ) Never had a complaint about this rifle and never will.....[:o)]
