DAISY EXPERTS? Model 40 question.

Hopefully someone on here knows airguns! I'm trying to obtain an old No. 40 Daisy, with bayonet! Below is pic to show what I'm talking about. Can't find any info on it and frankly, in 60 years of gun interest, I've never even HEARD of the thing!!!

I assume they were offered sometime around one or the other of our World Wars, but which one? And, what kind of rarity are we talking about here?

    UPDATE! I just found the Model 40 listed in an old 1925 Daisy catalog. So we now know a date. It originally sold for $5.00 and they even included US Army drill instructions. Musta' been riding on the aftermath patriotism from WW I.

    Still looking to learn some kind of value. Anybody???

    - adj. front sight, extended shot tube with knurled end extends about .25 in. beyond muzzle. Mfg. 1916-18.

    Grading 100% 95% 90% 80% 60% 40% 20%

    Add $300-$500 for bayonet.
    Add $100 for sling.

    - fixed front sight, standard no. 25 shot tube. Mfg. 1919-32.

    Add $300-$500 for bayonet.
    Add $100 for sling.
    The metal bayonets were often taken away from children, and subsequently either lost or thrown away. Bayonet alone may sell for $300-$400.

    Many thanks, tsr1965. I suspected as much, that the bayo was the most valuable item being offered. I'd heard that about some other toy rifle a long time ago. Since we don't know EXACT condition, I'm just gonna' have to gamble. But, thanks to you, I've at least got an idea of what I should offer.
