Higgins & High Standard ?

I am curious, since jc higgins 88 revolvers were manufactured for sears by high standard, do the high standard and jc higgins serial numbers coincide with the same manufactur dates? IE: a high standard 101 revolver with a SN# 8500 would place it manufactured in 1934. Would a 8500 SN jc higgins 88 be the same? Thanks for your expertise. Regards...

    I believe that your off by about 20 years as far as the DOM for the HS .22 revolvers. The were first produced in the mid 50's.

    Yes, the Sears revolvers were included in the regular High Standard serial numbering system. However, most of the early revolves, both Sears and High Standard were initially in a separate numbering system beginning with "1". Revolver shipments began in February 1955.

    Serial number 8500 shipped July 23,1955.
