Higgins & High Standard ?
I am curious, since jc higgins 88 revolvers were manufactured for sears by high standard, do the high standard and jc higgins serial numbers coincide with the same manufactur dates? IE: a high standard 101 revolver with a SN# 8500 would place it manufactured in 1934. Would a 8500 SN jc higgins 88 be the same? Thanks for your expertise. Regards...

I believe that your off by about 20 years as far as the DOM for the HS .22 revolvers. The were first produced in the mid 50's. 0 -
Yes, the Sears revolvers were included in the regular High Standard serial numbering system. However, most of the early revolves, both Sears and High Standard were initially in a separate numbering system beginning with "1". Revolver shipments began in February 1955.
Serial number 8500 shipped July 23,1955.0 -
