[/size=3Hello,
I just purchased a old Model Contender by TC, it is after 195,000 serial#. It is very stiff opening up this gun, does anyone have any thoughts about loosening this up ?
Thanks0 -
Those early T-C's are very hard to open. Guys would pound on the trigger guard and break parts. Take it to a 'smith who knows them. 0 -

On the old models there is a set trigger screw that runs vertically inside the frame. Not sure if it's on the left or right side of the frame, but if it's turned down too far it will push down on the trigger from the top and have the effect of locking it in place.
Do you have a barrel on this frame & if so, will the hammer cock to the rear? Does it stay to the rear or does the sear not engage?0 -
Yes ,there is a barrel on the frame
and the hammer cocks fine and stays but only
releases when you open the action0 -
Triger adjustment screw is in the frony of the trigger, straight up,turn it out. 0 -
Thanks for the suggestions guys
but I called TCA and they told me
to bring in the trigger group, so
I figured ,might as well tear it
down and I found out the plunger and
plunger spring were rusty and crudded
up, cleaned it all and she works
fine. the contender was made in 1970
according to TCa0
