NEED CAP GUN INFO

I'm told the tiny cap gun pictured below was made by "Stevens" around the turn of the century. I'm not really collecting toy guns, but this little fellow just appealed to me. I don't have any reference books to see what it's value might be. Anyone out there got any help for me on identifying this guy correctly? Many thanks in advance. Shansei45




The other side has MADE IN U.S.A. cast into it. It still works fine and has no flaws that I can see.

  Cast iron cap pistols can date back to around the 1880s. Yours looks around 1900 to me, from the shape of where the cap goes. Later, caps became sort of standardized and wider. If you haunt the 'unmentionable' auction you can find a number of similar simple cap pistols, maybe find exactly the same. Prices usually start around $10 and some bring quite a lot more. All this is from my looking for a different kind and should be taken as hip-shot info until an 'expert' reports in.

  Thanks rhmc24 for that feedback. I've seen quite a few VERY similar on that unmentionable website, and they were ALMOST all by the same seller, AND, they were all mucho $$$$$$$$. He often refers to some kind of price guide, but he wouldn't give me much info since I wasn't bidding on his goodies. He DID tell me it was made by Stevens but did not value it. I keep hoping I'll run into someone with a price guide who'll share their info.

  I'm not going to be of much help but I do know that with a little research you may find that it is worth more than you think.
  
  The reason I am saying that is at the last gun show I ran into a man who collects old toy guns. He was telling me that there is even a convention (I can't remember where) dedicated to toy gun collectors. It is apparently a bigger hobby than most people would think. Good luck and please tell us what you find out about yours.

  There is one up now a little more primitive than yours but very similar cap/hammer area, disappearing trigger, etc, been bid up to $20.
