Quick Antique Question

Hi Guys.
Quick question concerning antiques. I have a couple of pre 1899 rifles up for auction. Can I ship these directly to an individual, or do I have to ship to a C&R holder? Oh, one other question, Is an M44 carbine C&R eligible?

  By Federal law, you can ship the antiques to an individual. Federal Firearms Laws do not apply to these guns.
  However, some states may have laws that are more strict.
  I would be real careful about shipping to DC, or to New Jersey, for example.

  Thanks for the quick reply Alan.
  I have a Berthier French Musketoon and a Lebel. Would it be safe to say these are made before 1899? How can I verify it? I have attached a link to my auctions if you dont mind looking, as I have taken pics of all markings.

  Ref: M44, c&p from the BATFE Curio & Relic listing:
  
  Russian (U.S.S.R.), model 1891, Mosin-Nagant rifles, cal. 7.62 x 54R and .22 cal., all models and all
  variations, mfd. after 1898 (i.e., M1891/30, M1910, M1938, and M1944).
  
  
  So yes, they are C&R

  C&R and antique are not at all the same. These are antique.
