M1 Garand Stock Question
I've got an HRA Garand which, purely by accident and some dumb luck, appears to be pretty much "correct". But I've got a question on the stock - it's without any doubt an Overton. Back porch, grip shape, Overton 'notch", it's all there.
I know that Overton made stocks for IHC but this doesn't have the Julian dating in the channel. As a matter of fact, there are no markings at all; no DAS, no proof "P" - I think they were sanded off.
I know that they also made replacement stocks that the Military used in general. But did they ever furnish buttstocks specifically to HRA? Seems to me that I once read that they did but I'm not sure.

H&R made their own walnut stocks, but during the course of "re-arsenalling" - Overton walnut and birch stocks were used - especially after 1957. Overton stocks will have a "semi-V" cut at the back of the receiver cut out. 0
