Kimber help

Hi Guys;

I have a brand new Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II. When it is cocked, if I pull the trigger the hammer will drop even when I'm not activating (pressing on) the grip safety. This is a new, right out of the box, never fired pistol.

Any idea on what the problem could be. I hate to have to send it back and wait for Kimber to fix it.

    .40 caliber ultra compact. Weapon jams since new. I sent it to Kimber and they say they can convert to 9mm. I do not want 9mm. Kimber has discontinued this model. Paid over $800 and $65 to ship to them. I want my money or .45. Any advise. Or anyone with the same problem?

    The shorter[:(] the barrel the harder it is to get a 1911 TYPE pistol to function On top of that the 40 is a very high pressure loading[V] so to get your pistol to be trouble free it It will take a VERY FRIM grip, a strong recoil spring to keep the slide locked up until the bullet is at the very end of the barrel and a very smooth feed ramp while still having enough case support to keep from having a KABOOM. Ask yourself why did Kimber discontinue this when the 40 is the latest FAD when it comes to semi auto pistols. [?][:0]

    Edit . Other then trying to SUE them . I don't think you can MAKE them give you either of your two choices. Some time you can catch more bees with Sugar then Vinegar. I would try to talk to someone and get a mailing address to upper management. Then write them and state you want to Own a KIMBER but as you feel this model was discontinued because of lack of engineering to make it work as advertised. They Kimber should want to keep their customers happy and either replace with a Proven 45 or give you your money back. In writing most times works better then talking to some flunky on the phone.

    Thanks for your reply. Your answer to the problem makes sense. Kimber knows they have a problem gun, that is why they stopped making them. My other dilema is how can I make them give me what I want. My money back or a .45 caliber.

    How long have you had it. Have talked to the dealer that sold it to you? i would start there he will have a lil more recourse than you will being a dealer, he might be talked int ogiving you value towards a 45 in order t okeep a customer happy.

    I've had it over a year. I bought the gun at a gun show where the dealer was from Dallas, Texas. Dallas is about 900 miles from where I live. But I still have their contact information.

    Welcome to the forums.

    Take Perryshooters advice. Tell them you are unhappy with this product. By the way, is this an alloy frame or an all steel one?

    One last thing...the threads on the experts forum are normally automatically locked out after 10 posts. To help persevere that, try editing your posts, instead of posting a new reply....like
