Safe to shoot 22 Short from 22LR Chamber ?
Hello again, I was wondering if it would be safe for the gun, and the eyeballs, to hand feed a Winchester M 75 with 22 shorts. I have a Winchester 69a that is short , long , & LR. Takes the same clip as the 75 and the bolt looks about the same. Anyhow will it shoot safely with the 22 shorts in the 75 chamber if hand fed? As the 75 won't feed the shorty from the clip.... Reason I am asking is there hasn't been a box of 22 LR in this neck of the woods for months. Thanks, Pat

No problem at all only thing you might get "AFTER HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS " is a little carbon /burnt powder in the front part of the chamber that will need to be cleaned out or long rifle cartridges will be slightly hard to chamber fully. 0 -
Probably. You'll want to give the chamber a good scrubbin' before shooting LR in it again though in case there is lead or wax buildup. 0 -
Thanks again guys, Thats pretty much what I figured, but best to be on the safe side. I apperciate it. Pat 0
