I put the new ejector in my Browning and smoothed up the ramp and it runs great. On the Huntsman, I replaced the firing pin, firing pin spring, recoil rod and spring. It runs good, but about once every two mags, it misfires. When it does, the cartridge has clearly been struck by the firing pin, it just doesn't fire. It is possible the ammo is suspect, but I also suspect the mainspring could need replaced. What is your opinion? Thanks, Jeff.

What brand of ammo are you using? Is there a nicely defined dent in the cartridge where the firing pin strikes? If there is a sharply defined impact dent from the firing pin, I would immediately suspect ammo...some of the bulk pack stuff gives inconsistent ignition...try a box of CCI target ammo in the pistol and see if you still have failures to fire. 0 -
Hello 22 Rim fire is very dependant on good priming of the ammo and this is dependant on handling on said ammo One test you can do is the next time you have a misfire take the round and in good light use either your fingers or pair of pliers and tilt the bullet to remove it holding the case pointed up. Now dump the powder in the palm of your other hand and closely examine the powder If you see flakes of different color then the primer was cracked by dropping before you ever loaded the magazine and the firing pin hit in a void of primer in the rim. REMINGTON ammo is the worst I have ever seen. The other thing to be aware of is some ammo is larger in diameter and can not fully chamber then when the firing pin is released to hit the cartridge it spends some of it's energy fully chambering the round . 0
