marlin glenfield model 40 semi auto 22

I have a marlin model 40 22 rifle serial #2244xxxx can anyone tell me how old it is?I cant find it in my blue book of gun values.

    I don't find reference to a Model 40 either. Are you certain you have model # correct?

    It has glenfield mod 40. on the barrel,the marlin firearms co.north haven conn.usa.cal 22 L.R. only...this is the first one i have seen...

    Pics might help. W/an 8 number serial, it wouldn't seem a rare model.

    glenfield was the low brow version sold at various discount stores ie Kmart

    The Glenfield model 40 is MOST LIKELY the same gun as the Marlin model 60 which has been made in the millions. Except for some cost cutting on some of the parts.

    That mod 40 glenfield was only made in 1979 and for that year only.
    It may have some collector value, but you will have to find someone that has "that hole" in his collection
