savage 304

I have a old savage model 304 in 30-30 its a bolt action. I am wondering if this is a rare gun(cant find it on GB) and wondering how much it is worth. Odd thing is there is no serial number on this rifle and there is no spot where it was removed.

  There is a SP and a 6c stamped on the barrel

  I think you might have a Model 340 not a 304. 340's in 30/30 bring between $150-$250 depending on condition. Serial numbers were not required on firearms until the Gun Control Act of 1968 became law and many did not have them. Yours must have been made prior to 1968.

  I checked the rifle again and my mistake it is a model 340.

  This is not a rare rifle. They are really neat little rifles. I would keep it; you can't get much for it.
